En français The Global Alliance is committed to increasing the participation of women in the SMET workforce worldwide and supporting other diverse groups including: ethnicity, age, discipline, languages, and cultures. Its primary objectives are twofold: (1) to establish worldwide collaborations with higher education institutions, corporations and government, and (2) to facilitate the development of long-term, sustainable infrastructures in science and engineering for a diversified workforce.   What's New This upcoming year the Global Alliance plans to participate in a variety of meetings and events designed to increase the participation of women in the SMET workforce.  The final reports on some of our past projects are now available.  Also, find out about some upcoming events.   Access and diversity are not the enemy of excellence.      -C.
