Mona F. M. Mursi, Ph.D.

Dr. Mursi is a professor at the Electrical Engineering Department, College of Engineering at Shobra, Zagazig University, Banha branch, in Egypt.

She received the B.Sc. degree from the College of Engineering, Cairo University in 1965 and was appointed as teaching assistant and later assistant professor at the EE Department. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO. in 1972.

She also joined King Saud University at Saudi Arabia, College of Computer and Information Science as a professor. She was responsible for setting up and developing the curriculum for computer departments at both universities, as well as contributing to the modernization of the academic program for the Egyptian Air Force Academy. She pioneered the arabization of computer systems in Egypt in the 70's and contributed extensively to the development of standards in that area. She worked at Tektronix Inc., USA and Calma Inc, USA as engineering program manager, member of the advanced products planning committee, and project leader, and pioneered the design and development effort of 32-bit high performance processors, and also pioneered the introduction of embedded microprocessors in instrumentation by designing the first intelligent interface for the digital processing oscilloscope .

She has supervised several M.S. and Ph.D. students and has several publications. She has provided consultations to a number of computer companies.
